By Josh Cox BMSc / 11 July 2019 / Last Modified: 15 September 2023

We are super excited at Reptile Encounters to have launched our Pathways – Zoo Keeper Program. Elaine and Sam have been doing a wonderful job working with all our amazing participants. It’s great seeing fresh new faces at Reptile Encounters HQ.

We have had the pleasure of working with Melinda and the awesome people at Different Journeys and we look forward to continuing to work them into the future. See some happy snaps below from the ASD Peer Support Social Event.

Josh Cox BMSc
Josh Cox BMSc

Josh is the driving force behind Reptile Encounters, as our innovative Director. Beginning his wildlife and conservation journey in his childhood with a vast collection of his own reptiles, Josh has continued to expand his husbandry experience and passion for saving all creatures. With this early experience, and two parents as teachers, Josh was destined to develop an educational zoo helping everyone fall in love with our incredible wildlife. After completing a Bachelor of Medical Science and veering off into the pharmaceutical world for a few years, Josh brought his science and networking experience, and entrepreneurial spirit, back to his true passion in wildlife. In 2007, he launched Reptile Encounters from the ground up. With nothing more than his experience and a drive to make a difference, Josh grew his humble small collection to the incredible zoo you see today; a nature-based home to over five hundred Australian wildlife, employing 45 staff, visiting 1500 classrooms each year, and operating 365 days per year.
