At Reptile Encounters everything we do is based on three core principles: Have Fun, Create Memories and Make a Difference. Our new partnership with B1G1 allows us to do exactly that. B1G1 takes care of the hard work: it is specialised in hand-picking projects for companies like ours. Projects that make the absolute greatest possible impact to communities and the environment around the globe. And now, for every single school incursion booked we will donate to the B1G1 program, so together we can make a difference to our world.

Projects

We select B1G1 projects that are focused on protecting and preserving the environment and improving access to education, either locally here in Australia or around the world. We believe education is crucial to the future of the planet, as it leads to the creativity and critical thinking vital for people of all ages to live life to their fullest potential and live in a sustainable future. At Reptile Encounters not only are we passionate about protecting the environment, but we also aim to inspire our audiences to do their part as well. We are super-excited to donate to and be involved with environmental and educational projects that will help keep planet Earth green and healthy.

2000 Programs = 2000 Trees

Our big, hairy, audacious goal for 2019 is to provide 2000 awesome wildlife incursions into schools around Melbourne – and for every single incursion we do, we will plant a tree in the stunning Daintree Rainforest. The Daintree Rainforest is part of the Wet Tropics Rainforest and is the oldest surviving tropical rainforest in the world.
The Daintree Rainforest is rich with biodiversity, containing 30% of Australia’s frog, reptile and marsupial species, 90% of bat and butterfly species and 7% of bird species. So it’s pretty clear why it is so important that we protect this amazing place.

Sustainable Development Goals

Track how our impacts are affecting the global goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015.

If you haven’t heard of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, they are a set of wide-ranging and ambitious global objectives that aim to transform our planet for the better. As you may have guessed, they are mainly focused on social, economic and environmental areas and they push, pull and guide the planet towards developing in a sustainable way. Both eyes are on not only the next generation, but the next ten generations. Included in the goals are bold aspirations to address poverty, hunger, health, education, global warming, gender equality, water, sanitation, energy, urbanization, environment and social justice.
