Dot the palms: Use washable, non-toxic finger paint to put a few small dots on the palms and fingertips of about ¼ of the students.
Check the class: Ask students to count how many people currently have no paint on their hands.
Mingle and move: Give everyone five minutes to shake hands, high-five or pass around classroom toys and objects.
Reveal the spread: Ask students to check their hands again and count how many students are still paint-free.
Discuss: Explain that the paint is acting as a model for germs and discuss how handwashing can help reduce their spread.

Imagine: Ask students to think of something they would like to share with someone who isn’t with them.
Draw it: Students draw their story, idea or message instead of using a phone or computer.
Share: Students show their drawing to a partner and explain what they wanted to communicate.
Pass it on: Ask the partner to explain what they think the drawing means.
Discuss: What are some other ways people can share stories and knowledge without digital technology?
