Holiday Program - Wildlife Ranger for a day!
This school holidays let your child become a Wildlife Ranger for a day. If your child loves wildlife and has a passion for the environment, then this experience is for you. Based at Valley Reserve Scout Hall, Mount Waverley, your child will have the chance to learn all about native Australian reptiles, frogs, birds, aquatic life, mammals and invertebrates. The day includes entertaining workshops on animal husbandry, feeding and handling, and other fun filled activities to enhance their passion for nature. Bug hunt activities and a journey through the local bush to see what we can find will ensure your child’s craving for all things wild will be thoroughly satisfied.Venue Details

Dates: January 16th, 18th, 20th, 23rd, 25th and 30th 2012.
Cost: $150inc.GST. per day
Day activities include:
- Workshops on reptiles, frogs, birds, aquatic life, mammals and invertebrates
- Bug hunt expedition
- Animal feeding and husbandry
- Lots and lots of hands on play time with our safe animals

30 min Australian Reptile presentation
30 min reptile handling workshop
30 min feeding bearded dragons, blue tongue lizards and crocodiles.
10:30 – 11:00am: Recess
11:00 – 12:00 noon: Aquatic life introduction
30 min Aqualife presentation
10 mins workshop on setting up an aquarium
10 mins handling of frogs
10 mins feeding frogs
12:00 – 12:30pm Mammal workshop
10 min Marsupial presentation
10 mins hand feed a baby bettong
10 mins feeding and food prep
12:30 – 1:00pm: Bird workshop
